William F. Knightly, 77, resident of Milford, NH, died July 18, 2008 at the Milford Medical Center.� He was born in Boston, MA on March 21, 1931, a son of the late John W. & Margaret (Roche) Knightly.� Mr. Knightly resided in Milford for the past 22 years and formerly lived in North Billerica, MA for 14 years.� He was employed as an Ironworker for Local #7, Boston, MA for 30 years and retired in 1984.� Following his retirement, he and his family moved to Milford and he worked for Kinney Gulf, Milford and the Texaco Station, Brookline, NH.� Mr. Knightly was an avid sports fan and enjoyed politics.� In addition, he was a member of AARP.� He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.� He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Ann Zimmermann; a brother, John Knightly; three sisters, Sheila Allaire, Mary Rea and Elizabeth Malcolm. Family members include his wife of 49 years, Ann B. (Vrettas) Knightly of Milford, NH; a son, John W. Knightly of Jaffrey, NH; many nieces and nephews.� Calling hours are Wednesday, July 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home.� Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.� In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association of New Hampshire, 20 Warren Street, Suite 4, Concord, NH� 03301.�
