� VIRGINIA H. YORK � DATELINE:�MILFORD, NH � Virginia H. York, 88, resident of Milford, NH, died December 19, 2007 at her home. � She was born in Fairfield, ME on October 12, 1919, a daughter of the late Harold & Dora F. (Haynes) Howe. � Mrs. York resided in Milford since 1960 and formerly lived in Oakland, ME for many years. � She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and keen intellect.�She was an avid reader and enjoyed board games, playing cards, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. � Mrs. York was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. � She was predeceased by her husband, Alton E. York, who died in 1997. � Family members include a daughter, Diane Y. Aubrey of Bedford, NH; three sons, Jon D. York of Apple Valley, CA, Paul E. York of Chalfont, PA and Stephen G. York of Denver, CO; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Marshall of Bethel, ME; several nieces and nephews. � There are no visiting hours.�Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield, ME, in the spring.�Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, is in charge of arrangements.�For more information or to sign an online condolence, go to www.smith-heald.com �
