Virginia "Ginger" M. Chandler

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia (Ginger) Marguerite Chandler, 76, formerly of Manchester, NH. Ginger passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, with her beloved son, Jim, by her side.

Born on March 2, 1950 to Joseph and Helen Perkins. Ginger was the second eldest of 4 children. Ginger attended the private Belvedere School in Lowell, MA. until her father’s company transfer to Atlanta, GA. Ginger graduated in 1968 from Dykes High School in Atlanta. She continued a 4-year education at Auburn University where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

After graduating Ginger returned to NH and married Harold (Tim) I. Chandler in 1973. Tim and Ginger welcomed their son, James K Chandler in 1977.

Ginger began a long-term professional career in the field of Human Resources. She was named Vice President of Personnel for BankEast Corp. Vice President of Human Resources for Elliot Hospital Systems and later Hillsborough County.

Ginger was devoted to her family and large circle of friends. She will be missed by all.

Ginger thoroughly enjoyed a round of golf, light house hunting and beach combing along the coast of NH and Maine, birdwatching, ushering at The Palace Theater and dining out with friends.

Ginger is survived by her son James Chandler and his daughter Salem Rose Chandler. Sister Roberta and spouse C Bruce Ulricson and sister Susan Perkins. Nephew Col. Davis Ulricson and spouse Amy. Nephew Graham Hamby. Grandniece Ashley Ulricson. Grandnephews John and Declan Ulricson. Ginger was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen Perkins and brother C Kyle Perkins.
