Virginia P. Crowder

Virginia (Ginger) Pearson Crowder, 90, longtime resident of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024 at her home in Brookline, NH surrounded by family. She is predeceased by her loving husband Christopher Crowder and her parents Chet and Lucille Pearson.

Ginger grew up in a loving family alongside her brother Jack in Omaha, Nebraska. Here she met her husband Chris in high school where they became friends and began dating after she invited him to a dance. Their friendship turned to love, and they were married in 1955. After Chris’ time in the air force in South Dakota, the couple moved to Tucson, Arizona where Ginger previously had attended the University of Arizona and graduated with highest distinction earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She paused her teaching career to start a family with her husband, and they welcomed their three children Lisa, Brian and Kimberly. When her youngest entered school, Ginger returned to the classroom and spent the last 13 years of her career at Booth Fickett Math-Science Magnet School. Ginger loved her work and spent over 20 years teaching young children.

Ginger had a deep faith in God that was the foundation of her life and family. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist where she raised her family, and later Desert Skies United Methodist Church, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher, singing in choir, serving in her church community, organizing and serving in various outreach programs in the city, faithfully praying for others, and making lasting friendships. No matter whether Ginger was at home, work, church, or simply in her neighborhood, her love for Christ was displayedin her abiding love and care for others throughout everyday life. Her quiet sense of grace, hard work, humor, and creativity were woven through everything she did. It was her great joy to love and serve others!

Ginger cherished all her family relationships, cared deeply for their well-being, and found joy in spending time with them all. To us she was always the quiet strength and stability of our home, making all who came into it feel safe, special and loved. She was the definition of class, quality and true beauty, from the inside out. We miss her profoundly, but rejoice that she is with her Savior and once again with Chris and all those that have gone before her.

Ginger is survived by her brother and his wife, Jack and Sandy Pearson, her two nieces and nephew, her three children, Lisa (Clive) Jarman, Brian (Kim) Crowder, and Kimberly (Aaron)Koepke, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.The family will be holding a memorial service Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00pm at Desert Skies United Methodist Church in Tucson, AZ (3255 N.
