Thomas C. Vail, Sr.

Thomas C. Vail, Sr., 80, resident of Milford, NH, died October 24, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare Center-Crestwood in Milford, NH.� He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 2, 1928, a son of the late Elias & Alice Vail.� Mr. Vail graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.� He resided in Milford for the past two years and formerly lived in Rochester and Laconia, NH for many years.� Mr. Vail had been employed as a salesman for Phoenix Insurance Company, Hartford, CT.� He was a communicant of St. Patricks Church, Milford and was active as a lector in the Roman Catholic Church.� In addition, he liked bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society.� He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather.� Family members include his wife, Eileen (Sullivan) Vail of Milford, NH; a son, Thomas C. Vail, Jr. of Westminster, CO; two daughters, Laurie Casey of Fitchburg, MA, Shauneen Lund of San Leandro, CA; four grandchildren, Matthew Vail, Bryan Vail, Lillie Vail and Kim Lund; a sister, Eleanor Capers of California; several nieces and nephews.� Calling hours are Wednesday, October 29th from 4-6 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00 am in St. Patricks Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford.� Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Northampton, MA.�
