Ronald N. Dube

Ronald Normand Dube passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 23, 2026 at age 83. This ended a fight against pneumonia waged with the heroic help of the mighty SNHMC Intensive Care unit. Born in Nashua, NH, July 13, 1942, to Cecile Louise Soucy Dube and Normand Francis Dube, Ron graduated from Nashua High School in 1960, and UNH in 1964. He served 2 years in Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa. Upon returning home, he completed a Master’s Program at Rivier College and began a science teaching career that spanned over 40years of teaching science in public schools. Right up to the day he passed, he could recognize every one of the thousands of students he had in classes, and a number of them were there at SNMC to care for him!

Ron wrote and published 7 books, including interviews with area veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He updated the Mason town history for the 250th town birthday. For 14 years he served as Dean of Boy Scout College, hosted in Mason for multistates.

As Ron’s stepmother predicted, Ron endured a “kerosene vs. fire” marriage, lasting 54 years, to Roseanna Dougherty Dube! An Eagle Scout himself (1960), his three sons also became Eagle Scouts: John Philip Dube, Benjamin Laurance Dube, and Luke Dillon Dube who is married to Christine Freeman and gave the family its only grandchild, Penelope Rose Dube. Ron was predeceased by his only brother, Maurice Dube.

Ron’s high school job was putting his Scout lifeguard training to work at Salmon Brook in Nashua. To pay for college, Ron worked many years at Benson’s Wild Animal Farm in Hudson, NH.

Ron worked many years as a part-time photographer and reporter for The Nashua Telegraph, the Manchester Union Leader, and The Monadnock Ledger. He also created special features like interviews and highlights of WWII battles as their anniversaries came around, and the “Ever Notice” column with items of note found in Nature.

Ron spent many years researching and documenting his family genealogy tracing the family back to the time of Charlemagne.

By his wish, there will be no wake or funeral. However, Mason Congregational Church will host a Celebration of Life this spring on: Saturday, May 2. If you would like to come, and even share a few memories at the Ceremony, please contact the family macigi.ron@gmail.com.
