Roberta J. Toomey

Roberta Jolene Toomey, 89, resident of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, June 11, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family.� She was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 9, 1918, a daughter of the late Jay & Jessie Harper.� Mrs. Toomey was raised and educated in Peabody, KS.� After her marriage in 1944, she moved to Scituate, MA and later to Milford, NH where she has resided for the past 53 years.� She was a homemaker for most of her life and worked with her husband on their family dairy farm.� She enjoyed gardening, collecting angels, needle work and was an accomplished cook.� Mrs. Toomey was a communicant of St. Patricks Church, Milford for 53 years and a member of the Rosary Altar Society.� She was predeceased by her husband, Harold C.P. Toomey.� Family members include four daughters, Patricia J. Hamel of Nashua, NH, Jayann Lamontagne of Londonderry, NH, Winifred Maki of Milford, NH and Kathleen Yale of Gilford, NH; 17 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren.� Calling hours are Monday, June 16th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 am in St. Patricks Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford.� Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.�
