Robert J. Von Iderstine

Robert J. Von Iderstine, 66, longtime resident of Ashland, NH, died on June 20, 2025 at Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA.

He was born in Nashua, NH on May 15, 1959, a son of William B. and Rita A. (Saraceno) Von Iderstine. He was raised and educated in Milford, NH and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1977. He attended Plymouth State College and was a member of the Alpha Theta Fraternity.

Robert made his home in the Plymouth and Ashland area for more than 45 years. Prior to his retirement, he had served as a Fire Captain/EMT for the Plymouth, NH Fire Department for many years. He was also a member of the Plymouth Elks Lodge #2312 and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was predeceased by a brother, William E. Von Iderstine; and a nephew, Derek Beaulieu.

Family members include his loving wife, Susannah L. (Carll) Von Iderstine of Ashland, NH; two children, William Von Iderstine and Katherine Von Iderstine, both of Ashland, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl V. and David Beaulieu of Milford, NH; nieces and nephews, Dana Beaulieu and his wife Jessica, Peter Von Iderstine and Amy Von Iderstine; a cousin and her husband, Karen and Dale Johnson, and many cousins.

Calling hours are on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4:00-6:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28th at 10:30am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Plymouth Fireman’s Association, 42 Highland Street, Plymouth, NH 03264.
