Robert N. Chartier

Robert N. Chartier, 90, resident of Merrimack, NH, died December 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 13, 1926 in Milford, NH, the son of George and Vileta (Nelson) Chartier and step-son to Frederick Selchow. Bob was a self-employed beautician. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and camp. He was an avid cribbage player and invented backward cribbage. He was a US veteran having served in the Army Aircorp during World War II. Bob was also a life member of the Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW and the Riccardi-Hartshorn Post #23 American Legion Milford, NH. Robert was predeceased by his wife; Betty May (Bruce) Chartier and his son, Bruce R. Chartier. Family members include three children, Valerie Gerlack and her significant other, Dave Migneault of Vista, CA, Glenn Chartier and his wife, Lynn of Littleton, NH,Lynne Perron and her husband Rod of Goffstown, NH; four grandchildren, Andrea Boisvert, Beth Tower, Sterling Gerlack and Trina Gerlack and her significant other Jordan Delgado of Milford; four great grandchildren, Rachel Locke, Adam Tower, Keith Locke, Cameron Delgado and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Thursday, December 14th from 5:00-8:00pm. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
