Rick A. Fenton (Arthur Richard Fenton), 63, of Amherst, NH, died February 8, 2009 at home peacefully surrounded by his family after a long series of medical issues including esophageal cancer in 1997. Rick was born on January 30, 1946 in Hartford, CT to his biological parents, now deceased, Walter Tollefson and Leona P. Hackett Fenton and at age 15, he was adopted by the late James C. Fenton. He was a graduate of East Granby High School, East Granby, CT. Rick served his country honorably in the Army in Vietnam from January 1966 until his discharge in June of 1968. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW locally for many years. He was a devoted NASCAR Race fan and enjoyed racing cars in his earlier years. In addition, he was an avid hunter. He was the loving husband of Carol (Bogli) Fenton of Amherst, whom he shared 20 years of marriage; two sons, Arthur Fenton of OK and Kyle Fenton of Amherst, NH; two daughters, Loret Fenton of MO, Ronda Kunick and her husband, David of UT; three grandchildren, Ryan Fenton Garcia, Megan Fenton and Skyler James Cameron Fenton; his stepmother, Barbara Tollefson of Hartford, CT; two brothers, Charles Tollefson and his wife, Nancy of Windsor Locks, CT, James Fenton and his wife, Holly of Southwick, MA; two sisters, Ann Young and her husband, Robert of Farmington, CT, Claudia Nelson Oquisanti of CT; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William & Evelyn Bogli of CT; two brothers-in-law, Frank Bogli and his wife, Sandy of FL, Leonard Bogli and his wife, Sue of CT; a sister-in-law, Sue Henderson of Canada; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Saturday, February 14th from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
