Richard O. Nervik, 76, resident of Milford, died on August 29, 2013 at the Laurel Center, Bedford, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 1, 1937, a son of Alfred and Kathryn (Barene) Nervik. Dick was raised and educated in NY, NY. He made his home in Milford since 1990 and formerly lived in Fishkill, NY, Milton VT, and San Jose, CA. He had been employed as an advisory engineer for IBM Corporation for 30 years. He later graduated from Berean Bible College and served as an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He pastored the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Milford for 12 years, retiring in 2002. Dick was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed all types of trains and loved going out to dinner. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Nervik. Family members include his wife of 56 years, Lillian J. (Larson) Nervik of Milford; a son, Christopher Nervik of Nashua, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jim Carlson of Portland, OR, Bethann and Donald Crossland of Hudson, NH; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Nervik; 11 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, September 3rd from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Light of the World Christian Church, 273 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by cremation. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, One Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110 or to the Teen Challenge of New England.
