Richard Raymond Camp was a longtime resident of Amherst, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, 2025 at the age of 87.
He was born June 25, 1937, in Peterborough NH, as the only child of Raymond H and J. Hazel (Bradbury) Camp
He was raised in Milford, NH and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1955. He continued his education at Bentley College in Boston before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1957. During his time, he served aboard the U.S.S. Camp and the U.S.S. Grand Canyon and completed his tour of duty in 1962.
He then went on to work for Raytheon Company as a Technical Writer and was fortunate enough to travel to many parts of the world for the company. He retired in 1995 after 35 years.
Dickie was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being out in nature. His other hobbies were woodworking, gardening, rifle shooting competitions, and collecting hunting and firearms memorabilia.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife and his high school sweetheart, Janet E. (Tonella) Camp for 19 years before she passed away in 1979.
Family members include his second wife of 37 years, Arlene C. (Thomas) Camp of Amherst NH; a son, David C. Camp of Swanzey, NH; daughter and son -in-law, Amy Camp Agnelli and Kevin of Port St. Lucie FL; stepdaughter, Amy Breeyear and her husband John Cifuentes of Fayetteville, NC; three grandchildren, Kayti Agnelli and longtime significant other Jimmy O’Hare of Gainesville, FL, Travis Agnelli and longtime significant other Sarah Rosario of Port St. Lucie FL, and Maisie Camp of Swanzey, NH; future granddaughter, Violet Agnelli due in July; as well as home caregiver and longtime family friend Debi Seavey.
Visiting hours are on Sunday, June 8th from 4:00-6:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, June 9th at 10:00am in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or to the NRA Ring of Freedom at www.nraringoffreedom.com.
