Paul S. Niquette, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his Brookline home. Paul was born October 18, 1946, in Burlington, VT, son of Seraphin Niquette and Clemence (Barnier) Niquette. Raised and educated in Burlington, he graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1964 and earned his associate’s degree from Champlain College in 1966. He made his home in Brookline since 1995. A devoted husband, father and papa, Paul’s family was his life. Together, they enjoyed barbecues, playing cards, trips to Florida, and epic family Christmases. He loved photography and movies, and had a soft spot for beaches, sports cars, and the Boston Red Sox. He was a talented woodworker who loved to make beautiful furniture for family and friends. Paul had a great sense of humor and a greater heart; he always tried to make others smile. Paul was a Vietnam Era veteran, having served in the United States Air Force; he was honorably discharged, in 1970, with the rank of SGT. He was employed as an accounting manager for GMAC for over thirty years, serving at several locations throughout the northeast. Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan (Adalian) Niquette of Brookline, NH; four children and their spouses: Alicia and Michael Murphy of Waddington, NY, Matthew and Brianna Niquette of Wilton, NH, Jonathan and Ashley Niquette of Brookline, NH, and Tamara Niquette of Grafton, MA; three grandchildren: Avery, Emma, and Keira Niquette; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Jackie and Tom Davis of Rochester, NY, Karen Niquette of Milton, VT, Donna and David Kirk of Burlington, VT; brother, David Niquette of Milton, VT; in-laws: Chuck and Mel Adalian, of Altamont, NY, Gary and Noelle Adalian, of Watervliet, NY, and Diane and John Houle, of Albany, NY; and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Alan Niquette and Gary Niquette, sisters Sally Bessette and Joyce Niquette, and sister-in-law Nancy (Adalian) Fedele. Visiting hours will be Friday, September 27th, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 10:00am, St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. A graveside service, with military honors, will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst.
