Paul H. Dion

Paul H. Dion, 86, longtime resident of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 1, 2026, at Fairview Nursing Home, in Hudson NH after a period of declining health.

He was born on January 5, 1940, in Charlestown MA, a son of the late Leroy and Catherine (Kelly) Dion. He was raised and educated in Medford, MA.

He faithfully served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. Paul married Kathleen (Lewis) in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1963. Shortly after, they moved east where they made Milford their home, since 1969. Together they raised 4 children in Milford for 47 years, until Kathy’s passing in 2016.

Paul was a lifelong Catholic, attending & serving at St.Patrick's Catholic Church, Milford, NH for 50+ years. Paul worked as a chemist for many years with Nashua Corp & Ferrofluidics of Nashua, NH. While working full-time, he also pursued his Bachelor's Degree from Franklin Pierce College, graduating in 1988. He spent approximately 10 years with his family, attending & coaching games and activities in addition to serving as President, VP and Treasurer of MCAA, Milford Community Athletic Association, which maintains a mission "to provide Milford area youth with athletic activities that will promote sound bodies, keen minds, positive competitive attitudes, and the spirit of teamwork." When he was not working, he enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, star gazing, gardening, and wine making.

He is survived by his children, Patrick & wife Patricia Dion of Milford, NH, Joseph Dion of Milford, NH, Cheryl Dion of Milford, NH, Matthew & wife Sheryl Dion of Ft.Myers, FL, as well as his two grandchildren, Zachary Dion, Christian Dion, his brother, Robert Dion of California, his brother-in-law, Charles Lewis of Ohio, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Kathleen, his sisters, Claire, Teresa, and brother Roy.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH.
