Normand V. Laquerre

Normand V. Laquerre, 94, resident of Milford, NH, died on September 2, 2020 at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. Normand was born in Nashua, NH on December 18, 1925, son of Alextide & Eva (Bouchard) Laquerre. He was raised and educated in Nashua, NH. He resided with his family in Milford for 57 years. Normand was a proud WWII veteran serving in the US Marine Corps entering at the young age of 19. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Corporal. He began working at the Nashua Mills repairing looms and kept all the machines in top running order. This is where he met and married the love of his life, Fleurette. Normand felt the mills would not be a strong business for NH for long so he took advantage of the Veterans Bill and became a top notch Tool & Die maker at Anchor Electric. He later became the machine shop manager at Sanders Associates where he was promoted to head of the Flexprint Department dealing with computer boards. He worked as head of sales and customer relations at Nashua Industrial Machine Company (NIMCO) and then became the Manufacturing Manager at Regal Machine in Hudson. His last position was as Manufacturing Manager at Greenerd Press in Nashua where he retired in 1991. He was proud to be successful despite only graduating from 9th grade and later getting his GED from Nashua High School. He thrived and enjoyed teaching trigonometry to his machinists and being involved with the local vocational tech with their math competitions. Normand was extremely industrious, an amazing inventor and master craftsman. He built both of his own homes in Hudson and Milford. He was a communicant of St Patrick’s Church in Milford, NH. Normand is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Fleurette Y. (Boudreau) Laquerre of Milford, NH; two beloved daughters and son-in-laws, Louise and James Bruland of Fernandina Beach, FL, Suesan and John Yeager of Hollis, NH; four grandchildren, Jeff and Greg Yeager, and Matthew and Jessica Bruland; four great grandchildren, Cale, Layla, Jimmy and Etta; sister, Collette Gendron of Nashua, NH with many nieces & nephews.
