Maurice F. Wells, Sr., 82, known as “Moe” by everyone who loved and called him a friend passed away at home on July 22, 2025. Though perhaps ordinary in the eyes of the world, he was extraordinary to all who had the privilege to know him. Today, we gather not only in mourning but in celebration, holding close the legacy of Caring, kindness, and love that endures far beyond a single lifetime.
Born in Nashua New Hampshire on December 21, 1942, the son of Elsie Jones Wells and Charles Elmer Wells. Moe resided his entire life in NH with most of it spent in Milford NH. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and just relaxing with family and friends. He worked as a mechanic for many years at various manufacturing companies and liked tinkering and fixing things at home. Moe also volunteered at the still good shed in Milford for 30 years where he met many people and friends.
Married in 1973 to his wife of 41 years Victoria LaPonsee Wells who passed away in 2014 after a long courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. They have five children Maurice F Wells Jr, Christopher, Matthew, Stephanie and Jeffrey Wells.
Moe was predeceased by his brothers Ronald, Richard, John, Charlie Wells sisters Carol Cruz and Shirley Barkhouse. He is survived by his brothers Larry, Joel and Carle Wells Brother-in-law Stuart LaPonsee and his wife Joyce, Scotty LaPonsee, Sister-in-law Diane Hitt, Karen Rood, Lori Ives and many nephews’ nieces and grand kids.
As we bid farewell, let us do so with gratitude for the time we were granted, for the love we received, and for the opportunity to have walked alongside such a remarkable soul. Let us hold close the laughter, the lessons, and the shared dreams.
A graveside service will be held on Monday July 28, 2025, at 1:30 PM in the Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street Milford, NH 03055.
