Marsha A. Vander Mey, 74, of Amherst, NH, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on April 13, 2026, at Bridges by EPOCH in Nashua.
She was born in Providence, RI, on September 5, 1951, to the late August and Joan (Hughes) Moretti. Marsha was raised and educated in Cranston, RI.
After attending Rhode Island College, Marsha devoted many years to education as a beloved teacher and Head of School at Milford Christian Academy, where she positively impacted the lives of countless students and families.
She later co-founded Harper Point Photography, sharing her gift for capturing meaningful moments and connections. Her work was a true reflection of the care and heart she brought to everything she did. Marsha was a member of the Professional Photographers of America and served as President of the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association.
Marsha was recognized for superior image making with the Silver Medallion Award from the American Society of Photographers for her image "The Prom". These awards go to the top scoring images from the "Best of the Best" amongst Master Photographers.
Marsha earned degrees in Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman and won numerous other awards for her work including the Fuji Masterpiece Award and was voted Best Photographer of the Souhegan Region. Her images have been published in numerous publications, appeared on magazine covers and were shown in International Exhibitions.
Marsha found joy in time with family and friends, raising horses, exploring nature, traveling, art, and meeting new people.
She leaves behind her loving husband, David Vander Mey of Amherst, NH, her children, Nathan Rega and his wife Kira Friedman of Ventura, CA, Jessica Roberts and Thomas Shipley of Portsmouth, VA, Cheri Vander Mey of Charlotte, NC, Christopher and Timothy Vander Mey of Seattle, WA, her sister, Linda Muldoon of RI, brothers Vincent Moretti of IN, Robert Moretti of RI, her eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
SERVICES: Marsha’s burial was in Meadowview Cemetery in Amherst, NH attended by her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Bethany Covenant Church, One Covenant Way, Bedford, NH. The family will hold calling hours from 3 to 4 pm, with a service to follow at 4 pm.
