Marjorie E.J. Janecke passed away May 27, 2014 in Hudson, NH. Born in 1919, in Norwell, Massachusetts, she was orphaned at the age of three and adopted by a great aunt and uncle. She was a 1938 graduate of Boston University. As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), she found great joy in living and sharing her faith. At age 80 she wrote an autobiography and three other books. She loved counted cross-stitch, animals, travel and acrostic puzzles. Her strength of will and passionate spirit attracted people to her and they were blessed by the association. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ricker Nieves and Deborah Livesey; and two granddaughters, Marnie and Naomi Ricker. Visiting hours are on Sunday, June 1st from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 2nd at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 110 Concord Street, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
