Manuel Camelo Jr, 81 years old, resident of Milford, NH, left this world with Natalie at his side peacefully on December 4, 2025 at the Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. His health had been declining especially in 2025. The family acknowledges the wonderful care and comfort he wasgiven at the Hospice House by all staff and volunteers..
He was born on August 7, 1944, in San Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He came to the United States in 1955 with his mother and 3 sisters and 1 brother to join his father who had a home waiting for them in Cambridge, MA.
Manuel was married to his surviving wife, Natalie (DeGeorge) Camelo for 59 years. They had two sons, Manuel V. Camelo from Milford NH, and Michael R. Camelo from New York, and his wife Vanessa. They had two beautiful sons, Rocco M. and Massimo L. who were the light and joy of Manuel's life.
Manuel (Manny) has surviving siblings - Maria Lester, Vidalia Camelo, Dorvalina Gangi, Antonio Camelo, Nancy DerAnanian and Michael Camelo. He also has 2 special surviving aunts Maria Tavares and Deodata Brum as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Manny was for most of his working life a Senior Sales Representative working in the Boston area for several major companies selling office equipment, supplies, maintenance, service, etc.
He was an energetic soul, loved to talk and meet people. He loved all music (especially Doo Wop and opera by his favorite Mario Lanza) and of course his Portuguese favorites and Fados. Loved to dance.
His passion for the ocean never left him. He loved being at the ocean and fishing was his favorite. Everywhere he and Natalie travelled was near the ocean. (Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, Caribbean). They had a condo in Boynton Beach, FL on the intercoastal which they enjoyed during the cold winter months here.
In 1996 he was Lieutenant Governor of the Boston MA Kiwaniis. He was also a member of the Portuguese American Recreational Club in Woburn, MA. Manny was cremated. Interment was private at his request. There will be a Remembrance for him at a later date.
Donations may be made in Manuel's name to Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road in Merrimack, NH or Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston, MA.
