Katherine Ann Rich, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 4, 2021. She was born in Nashua, NH, daughter to Sandra (Corson) Berry and Raymond Michaud. Kathy was an incredibly caring and welcoming woman. She took great pride in being a mom, raving about her daughters with a smile on her face any chance she got. She was always a favorite among children and animals; they always seemed to gravitate toward her charismatic personality. Kathy was “Auntie Kathy” to many and was most happy when she was surrounded by little ones to spoil. Kathy was an incredibly strong woman. Throughout her life she worked many strenuous and demanding jobs, including carpentry, landscaping, and paving. There was even a time that Kathy ran her own well sought-after home cleaning service. She was a ‘jill of all trades’ and her daughters learned so much from her example of what hard work is. Kathy was the greatest cheerleader to her daughters. Even with 1300+ miles separating them over the past five years, she regularly made calls and sent letters. Her letters were always so special because she would leave her signature kiss mark on the seal, one that her daughters always eagerly flipped the card to find. They say the optimist says the cup is half full, while the pessimist says the cup is half empty. Katherine, in reference to the strong bond she had with her daughters, Jerica and Jenesa, would always say “My cup runneth over”. No matter the circumstance or distance, Kathy always showered her love onto others and would gladly give her last cent to anyone in need. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond Michaud; and her former spouse, Gary Rich. In addition to her mother, family members include three daughters, Jerica Rich, Jenesa Rich and Amy Murray; two brothers, Guy Michaud and Joseph Michaud; and her partner, Frank Hahnl. Daughters Jerica and Jenesa Rich would like to make public their immense gratitude to family, church family, friends, and neighbors who have provided aid during this difficult time. There are no words to define the impact of what your support, compassion, and love have meant to us. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the emergency personnel of the Milford Police Department and to Smith & Heald Funeral Home for their guidance and flexibility in working with us as we coordinated all of this from multiple states. Proverbs 31:25-26; 31 2 Kings 4:30 Jerica and Jenesa have begun reading over the amazing comments on their Mom’s Facebook page and will continue to have it up for you to continue to share memories and love. At this immediate time there will be no services.
