Karen G. Jarest, 74, resident of Wilton, NH died on June 18, 2019 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford. She was born in Nashua, NH on September 19, 1944, a daughter of Lester E. and Georgia Mae (Waterman) Grant. She was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1962. Karen resided in Wilton for the past several years and formerly made her home in Milford for most of her life. She had been employed in the banking industry for most of her life having worked at the Souhegan National Bank, Indian Head Bank, Fleet Bank, Peterborough Savings and retired from Triangle Credit Union. Karen was a member of the Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23 American Legion Auxiliary and Custos Morum Rebekah Lodge #23, Milford and a member of the former First Baptist Church of Milford. In addition, she was an avid Red Sox fan. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and she adored her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, David W. Lenz; her second husband, Lawrence Jarest and her longtime partner, Richard Piper; her son-in-law, Peter Daniels; two brothers, Roland Grant and Winston “Butch” Grant; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia “Kathy” Grant. Family members include her daughter, Tammy E. Daniels; two grandchildren, Adam Daniels and Nicolette Daniels; a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Normand Belanger all of Milford, NH; one sister-in-law, Linda Grant of Amherst, NH; several nieces and nephews including Shawn Belanger and Sherri Belanger, both of Milford. Visiting hours are on Friday, June 21st from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Wilton. Donations in her memory may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, Community Hospice House, Attn: Development, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
