Judith “Judy” (Foss) Tabb passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 85. She was born in New Jersey on December 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Spencer D. and Regina (Motzenbecker) Foss. Judy was raised in Pennington, NJ, where she graduated from Central High School, class of 1959. She attended Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA, graduating as a Registered Nurse.
Judy met her husband Fielding, in Pennington when Fielding’s family moved in around the corner. Sweethearts since the age of 13 (72 years), they married in Pennington, NJ in 1965. Judy and Fielding spent their 61 years of happily married life creating homes in 15 locations; including Greenbelt, MD; Middletown, MD; New Carrollton, MD; Pennington, NJ; Williamstown, MA; Williamsburg, VA; Williamstown, MA (second time); Cazenovia, NY; Amherst, NH; Montgomery, TX; Evergreen, CO; Cincinnati, OH; Bedford, NH; South Yarmouth, MA; and Goffstown, NH. To say Judy was an expert at moving, making each house a home, and making new friends is an understatement.
Judy was a dog lover and they had many pets over the years. Her beloved dog, Maggie will miss the many snuggles and treats Judy gave her. Judy enjoyed reading, movies, word puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She had a vast network of friends around the country and loved socializing over bridge, tennis, and going skiing with her family. She was a member of the Amherst Garden Club, Bedford Women’s Club, South Yarmouth Garden Club, and played in golf leagues both in New Hampshire and on Cape Cod.
But perhaps her most cherished role was being “Gramie.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She filled their days with stories, hugs, gentle encouragement, and the kind of unconditional love that will remain with them forever. The memories she created will be treasured for generations.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fielding of Goffstown, NH; her daughter, SusanArmstrong and her husband Alan of Goffstown, NH; her son John Tabb of Portland,Maine; her five grandchildren, Cameron, Sidney, and Paige Armstrong, and Emily and Olivia Tabb; and her brother Bill Foss and his wife Karen of Mill Valley, California.
Judy lived her life of 85 years by the belief that a simple act of politeness could change someone’s day. She taught us that beauty is found in the consistency of a loving heart. Her legacy was not one of boastfulness or pride, but rather a reflection of a life happy and content among family and friends. We will miss her deeply and are comforted by the many ways she shaped us and the enduring kindness she instilled in each of our lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Judy at 1pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Holy Rosary Church, in Hooksett, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by sharing kindness with others — just as she did throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
