Joseph R. Heaps, Iii

Joseph R. Heaps, III, 76, resident of Rolla, MO, died Saturday, June 11, 2011. He was born on August 14, 1934 in Nashua, NH, a son of the late Joseph R. Heaps, Jr. and Rose (Marchetti) Heaps and was raised and educated in Milford. Mr. Heaps was a former plant manager for O.K. Tool Company and had also been employed by William & Hussey Corporation and Hitchiner Manufacturing Company. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge in Hillsborough, NH and Missouri. In addition, he enjoyed golfing. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred “Cookie” Tighe and a younger sister, Toni Heaps. Family members include a son, Joseph R. “Rick” Heaps, IV of Milford, NH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Eric Mensh of Amherst, NH, Linda and Paul Blanchette of Milford, NH, Cindy Meservey of Naples, FL: six grandchildren, Andrew Leight, Joseph Leight, MacKenzie Meservey, Kevin Mensh, Allison Mensh and Maxwell Blanchette; his former wife, Marilyn Heaps of Milford; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours are Friday, June 17th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
