John F. “Jack” Tighe, 66, lifelong resident of Wilton, NH, died March 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in Wilton, NH on February 16, 1945, a son of Lawrence A. Tighe, Sr. and Ruth E. (Burns) Tighe. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, Class of 1963, Manchester, NH. For 43 years, he had been employed by Hitchiner Manufacturing Company in Milford. Jack was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, a former bartender at the Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23, American Legion, Milford, for 22 years and a 16 year member of the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball, softball, cooking, gardening, animals, playing cribbage and trips to Foxwoods. In addition, he umpired many softball games and belonged to several bowling leagues. Jack was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Wilton. He especially loved spending time with his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jack was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia A. McGettigan and Martha R. Tighe; two brothers, James E. Tighe and Lawrence A. Tighe, Jr. Family members include his wife of 31 years, Brenda (Fitts) Tighe of Wilton, NH; three daughters, Amy Bosse of Jaffrey, NH, Kathleen Tighe of Wilton and Shannon Kuusisto of New Ipswich; two grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Quinn of Milford; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Friday, March 18th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064-8109.
