John A. Wynne, Jr. resident of Milford, NH, died unexpectedly on December 3, 2023.
Born in Boston, MA on August 17, 1949, he was the beloved son of the late John A. and Mary (McDermott) Wynne. John was brought up with six sisters in Roslindale and Norwood, MA. He graduated from the Newman Preparatory School in Boston. After serving in the US Army in Korea, he attended Bentley College in Waltham, Ma where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
John was predeceased by his sisters Jackie, Sheila and Carol and brother-in-law’s Peter McDermott, David Noonan, and Donald MacLeod.
In December of 1977, he married his loving wife Rhonda (Brittain) and is also survived by his daughter Kanin Bailey, husband Jason, granddaughters Keelin and Shanna of Munroe Falls, OH. Also survived by his sister Virginia MacLeod of Cohasset, MA, Mary Jo Noonan of Centerville, MA, and Noreen and husband Al of Tucson, AZ and sister-in-law Judy Brittain of North Attleboro, MA and several nieces and nephews.
John had been employed as an accountant for Hologic, Inc., Marlborough, MA and after retirement, he was recently employed at the Home Depot office in Merrimack, NH.
John volunteered and served with the Town of Milford School Budget Advisory committee.
He was a member of the Milford Lions for over 20 years, where he held many positions and recently served as District Governor 2022-2023 and was currently serving as MD44 LCIF Chair.
John was always there to serve with his fellow Lions near and far, helping with whatever was needed by the community and helping anyone in need, either with advice, giving a listening ear or telling a dry joke. He will be greatly missed by all who knew or served with him.
There are no visiting hours. A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring of 2024. The family wishes to thank those at Home Depot for all their care and support.
