Joan (Walsh) Hoppe, 88, resident of Amherst, NH died on May 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Orange, New Jersey on April 30, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Callahan) Walsh. Joan was raised and educated in Orange, NJ and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Mont Clair, NJ. She made her home in Amherst, NH for the past 47 years. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed country music, animals and attending exercise classes at Hampshire Hills. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church, Milford NH for whom she taught CCD classes for a couple years including her son Gregory. She was the most loving, devout Christian who had a heart for helping anyone in need and always felt bad for and helped the poor and disenfranchised and instilled this same sense of charity in her children. Joan never met an animal she didn’t like was passionate about dogs always making sure the family pet came from the Humane Society where animals were most in need of a loving home. Family members include her loving husband of 59 years, Lawrence Hoppe of Amherst, NH; her devoted children, Gregory Hoppe of Amherst, NH, Victoria and Ronald Bouchard of Nashua, NH. Due to the covid restrictions, funeral services are private. Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Amherst, NH.
