Joan M. Bauerschmidt

Joan M. Bauerschmidt, 75, resident of Amherst, NH died August 26, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital, Nashua, NH.� She was born in Queens, NY on July 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles & Johanna (Gerken) Hildebrandt.� She earned her Masters Degree from Queens College, Queens, NY and taught second and fourth grade for the Beth Page School District, Long Island, NY for many years.� Mrs. Bauerschmidt lived in Amherst for the past 17 years and formerly resided in Long Island, NY.� She enjoyed knitting, tole painting and displaying her handmade items at various craft shows.� Mrs. Bauerschmidt was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Amherst and had served on the service committee and was also the church greeter.� She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother.� Family members include her husband of 48 years, Frank H. Bauerschmidt of Amherst, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne & Raymond Theil of Amherst, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank J. & Wendy Bauerschmidt of Milford, NH; three grandsons, Raymond, Ryan and Gregory and a step granddaughter; two brothers, Robert Hildebrandt of Colorado Springs, CO, William Hildebrandt of Syosset, NY; two nieces and four nephews.� Memorial visiting hours are Friday evening, August 29th from 6-9 pm in the Messiah Lutheran Church, 303 Route 101 (next to the Amherst Flower Shop), Amherst, NH.� A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the church, followed by a reception.� In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church or a cancer organization of your choice.�
