Jean F. (Fortier) Corcoran, wife of John J. Corcoran Jr., for forty years who predeceased her in 1989, was born in Worcester to Parents, the late Albert J. and Irene V. (Bousquet) Fortier. Jean grew up in Worcester and was an honors graduate of the Worcester Commerce High School and was employed by Greene & Heywood Insurance Company. Then she took on as the Office Manager of the Marrone Insurance Company. Jean and John were married in 1950 and moved to Boylston where he was Principal of the Boylston Elementary School, and together they raised five children who became the focus of their lives. Jean was involved in many organizations, bowling and golf leagues, member of St. Mary of the Hills Church and Guild. She was employed by the Boylston Municipal Light Department, retiring after 18 years as Office Manager in 1985. John retired at the same time after 38 years as Principal and Interim Superintendent and they moved to their home in West Hyannisport. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Hyannis Hills Golf Course, and Bowling leagues, and served many years as Secretary and Treasurer of TOPS MA #81, West Yarmouth. She loved to golf, bowling, reading, and world travel, and was an avid fan of her Boston Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins teams. Survivors include four daughters, Sandra L. Corcoran of Hopkinton, MA, Donna J. Corcoran of Amherst, NH, Debra L. Corcoran of Helena, MT, Marcia A. and husband Mark Lichtenwalner of Wellington, FL, daughter-in-law Diann Corcoran-DuBois and husband Randy DuBois of Venice, FL. Twelve grandchildren, Nyssa Grazda, Ian CorcoranSchwartz, Colin and Jessica LeCortz, Eli, Hannah, Esther, Leah Eller, Micah Eller and Matt Pettit, Meghan and Jake Corcoran, Nicole and Alex Medina, Haley Lichtenwalner, 3 great grand-daughters, Irene, Sophia, and Evelyn Eller, great grand-son Isaiah Benton. Many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Jean was predeceased by her husband in 1989, her son Jay on 9/11/2001, her granddaughter Callie Corcoran-Grazda, her sister Shirley and husband Arthur Loiselle, her sister Yvette and husband Arthur Nichols, and Myron Porochniak, her faithful companion of many years. Services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville, MA, on October 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
