Janet May Thorpe, 73, resident of Milford, NH, died July 3, 2008 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH.� She was born in Worcester, MA on January 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Edwin & Phoebe (Whitworth) Johnson.� Mrs. Thorpe lived in Milford since 1970 and had formerly resided in Hampton, CT.� She was a homemaker for most of her life and provided childcare in her home.� Mrs. Thorpe was a very compassionate and caring woman who opened her home to anyone in need.� She was a member of Church of Our Saviour, Milford and a founding member of St. Lukes Anglican Church, Amherst.� Mrs. Thorpe was a member of Ricciardi Hartshorn Post #23 American Legion Auxiliary and Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Milford.� In addition, she supported the Ambassadors Drum & Bugle Corp. in Willimantic, CT.� She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Edward Thorpe, who died in 1995 and a sister, Shirley Chobanion.� Family members include six sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Maureen Saben, Kevin & Cindy Gorgoglione, Joseph & Terri Gorgoglione, David & Annette Gorgoglione, James & Daniella Thorpe, Stephen & Wendy Gorgoglione, Ashleigh and Neil; four daughters and sons-in-law, Elisa & Darrin Manseau, Traci & Gerald Pare, Heather & Paulo Goncalves, Angelique Thorpe and her companion, Jason Gaska; 14 Grandchildren, Ryan Gorgoglione, Christina Gorgoglione, TJ Hudson, Michael Gorgoglione, Tabitha Hudson, Rachel, James (Jake) Thorpe, Julia Thorpe, Gabrielle Gorgoglione, John Gorgoglione, Andrew Gorgoglione, Sarah Gorgoglione, Thomas Pare, Aaron Gorgoglione; a great grandson, Joal Gorgoglione; a brother, Norman Johnson and his wife, Ginny; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Charles & Nancy Thorpe, Donald Chobanion, Eleanor Turner; and a lifelong friend, Ray Saben.� Visiting hours are Sunday, July 6th from 6:00-9:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am in Church of Our Saviour, 10 Amherst Street, Milford, NH.� Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, at a later date.� In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of Our Saviour Building Fund, P.O.
