Irene B. Gillett

Irene B. Gillett, 89, resident of Milford, NH, died June 16, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH surrounded by her family.� She was born in New Ulm, Minnesota on June 23, 1918, a daughter of the late George E. Grote, Sr. & Katherine (Ruby) Grote.� Irene resided in Milford for the past 15 years and formerly lived in New Ulm, MN, Vancouver, WA, Portland, OR and Chicago, Illinois.� While living in Chicago, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service.� Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.� She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.� � Irene enjoyed reading and painting with oils and watercolors.� She was predeceased by her husband, William McCann, her sister, Doris A. Klabunde and a brother, Stanley Grote.� Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine M. & Don Buckman of Milford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, William & Darlene McCann of Wisconsin; 6 Grandchildren, Rebecca & Don Boissonnault, Kimberly & Jim Blouin, Richard & Barbara Buckman, Don Buckman, Jr. & Bridgett Buckman, Alex McCann and Melissa McCann; 8 Great Grandchildren; two brothers, George Grote of Niles, Illinois and Clifford Grote of Las Cruces, New Mexico; many nieces and nephews.� There are no visiting hours.� A memorial service will be held in Chicago, IL, in August.� Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL, at a later date.� Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH� 03101.�
