Henry W. “Bill” Thatcher, Sr., 80, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on June 12, 2026 at Fairview Senior Living, Hudson, NH.
He was born on July 26, 1945 in Bryn Mawr, PA, the son of Carlton H. Thatcher and Helen (Potter) Thatcher.
Bill owned and operated United Auto Body in Milford, NH for several years. He also worked for the Town of Milford, NH for several years.
He was an ardent car enthusiast, owning several street rods and classic cars and bringing them to car shows. He also raced cars for many years at the Hudson and Lee Racetracks. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Richard Thatcher.
Family members include his loving wife, Sandra (Palomba) Thatcher of Milford, NH; three children, Henry W. “Bill” Thatcher Jr. and Kim of Manchester, NH, Dawn Richardson and Brian of Dunedin, FL and Lisa Roche and Terry of Litchfield, NH; four grandchildren, Victoria Richardson, Gabrielle Lafond, Cameron Thatcher and Trevor Roche; two siblings, Ralph Thatcher, Helen Robbins and Mr. Thatcher’s beloved dog, Cookie.
SERVICE INFORMATION: Celebration of life will be held on June 28th from 1:00PM-5:00PM at the American Legion, 43 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack NH. Graveside services will be private for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the NH Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064; Share Outreach, 1 Columbus Avenue, Milford, NH 03055.
