Helene Lagergren Lehr, of Nashua, NH and Stuart, FL, formerly of Amherst, NH for many years, passed away on June 27, 2012. Born on Long Island, NY on October 28, 1933 to G. Edward Lagergren and Mary (Dolan) Lagergren, she was educated at Hempstead High School on Long Island and St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mrs. Lehr worked for Digital Equipment Corporation for several years. She was a member of the Senior Bridge Group at the Senior Center in Nashua, a member of the Amherst Book Club and an active tennis player and golfer who played lots of golf at Amherst Country Club and in the Buckmeadow Women’s Golf League. In 1953, she married Rodger W. Lehr from Floral Park, LI, NY and they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary later this year. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Rodger W. Lehr, Jr. of Hartford, CT; Mark J. Lehr and his wife Lydia Cottrell of Boston, MA; and Michael J. Lehr and his wife Sally Richards and three grandchildren, Madison, Camryn and Jameson of Wayland, MA. She was predeceased by another son, Thomas K. Lehr and by her sister, Dorothy J. Paul of Berwyn, PA. There are no calling hours. A graveside service in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, will be held at a later date to be announced.
