Dr. Alan Roger Siebert passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024. Alan was born on July 16, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio the second son of Walter and Lillian Siebert. He attended Fenn College and received his BS in Chemical Engineering in 1951. He went on to graduate school at Case Western Reserve University where he received his PhD in Chemistry in 1955.
Alan and Anne were married in 1954. They raised their three children, Keith, Carol and Susie, in a home filled with love and laughter. Alan was a devoted family man which continued with the arrival of six grandchildren, Emily, Laura, Matthew, Mark, Maggie and Max. Alan and Anne were committed to their grandchildren’s happiness, making sure to attend as many birthdays, graduations, school plays, and sporting events as they could, and taking them on trips to Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, and Canada. Alan and Anne celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Alan worked his entire career at B.F. Goodrich in Brecksville, Ohio. Alan was a brilliant scientist working in the field of polymer chemistry where he received 12 patents for his inventions of new epoxy resin manufacturing processes. He presented his work at national and international conferences.
Alan will be remembered for his intelligence, his kindness, his sense of humor, his generosity, and his devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. A luncheon will follow at the Hampshire Hills Athletic Club, 50 Emerson Road, Milford, NH.
