Doris E. Jones

Doris E. Jones, 84, resident of Milford, NH died on October 28, 2017 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford, NH. She was born in Amherst, NH on November 21, 1932, a daughter of William Perly and Gladys (Green) Jones. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1950 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Franklin Pierce University and her Master’s degree from New Hampshire College. Doris made her home in Milford and Amherst for most of her life and had also lived in Peterborough, NH for 20 years and Wisconsin for several years. She had been employed by Brookstone Company in Peterborough and Pleasant Company, Middleton, WI. Doris was a member of Sage Board of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua Seniors Center, Genealogy Club in Nashua and the Souhegan Valley Chapter AARP. Doris was predeceased by her sister, Edith Gauthier and her brother, Richard William Jones. She is survived by her sister, Betty Stephenson of Taylors, SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. An hour of visitation will be held on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 9:00- 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Wilton, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
