David R. Matte

David R. Matte, 55, resident of Milford, NH, died on March 15, 2016 at his home. He was born in Lowell, MA on January 19, 1961, a son of Teresa A. (Rivet) Canelas of Lowell, MA and the late Gerald Matte. David was raised and educated in Lowell, MA and made his home in Milford, NH for the past 30 years. He had worked at BAE many years ago and spent the last 20 years working in the construction industry. David was most proud of his son, Jacob and his service to this country in the U.S. Army’s Infantry. His grandsons were his pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by many. He was predeceased by his wife, Jill (Benson) Matte and a sister, Judith Rondeau. In addition to his mother, family members include his son and daughter-in-law, Jacob R. and Alejandra Matte of Fresno, CA; two grandsons, Jacob R. Matte, Jr. and Marcus Matte of Fresno, CA; eight siblings and their spouses, Richard and Marcia Matte of Wisconsin, Anne Marie and Jeffrey Brown of Milford, NH, Dianne and David Lafond of Hudson, NH, Robert Matte of Wisconsin; Keven Matte of Lowell, MA, Karen and Andre Godfroy of Lowell, MA, Shawn and Cheryl Matte of Dracut, MA, Jeffrey and Sarah Matte of Dracut, MA; his stepmother, Helen Matte of Dracut, MA; lifelong friends, Joseph and Sandie Gasper of Hudson, NH; a godchild, Erica Marsh of Medford, MA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Memorial visiting hours are on Friday, APRIL 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.
