Cynthia A. Ballantyne, 76, resident of Milford, died on June 3, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. She was born in Lufkin, TX on January 13, 1939, a daughter of Woodrow W. Allen and Katherine L. (Konawell) Allen Cherry and moved to Pennsylvania as a young girl. She was raised in the Philadelphia area graduating from Interboro High School in 1956. She attended West Chester State College and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Secondary Education of Biology and Geography. While at college she met Robert Ballantyne and they were married in 1960. Cynthia was a homemaker for most of her life and spent many years raising and caring for her four sons. She had a deep faith in God and lived her life with God at the forefront. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law Robert & Terry Ballantyne of Grand Junction, CO, Scott& Marie Ballantyne of Fleetwood, PA, Todd & Kim Ballantyne of Amherst, NH and Keith & Cat Ballantyne of Gettysburg, PA; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Katherine Garonznik of Millsboro, DE and Sylvia Burns of Philadelphia, PA; and a brother, Phil Allen of Dallas, TX. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8th at 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
