He also treasured his 7 great-grandchildren: Josiah, Toby, Eden, Amara, Izaac, Iylah, and Elias. Cliff is survived by his sister Phyllis Proctor and husband Cap, and brother Tom Anderson and wife Kay. He was pre-deceased by his brother Jerry Anderson and wife Miriam and sister Jackie Gustafson. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Cliff was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. His parents were Sigrid (Peterson) Anderson and Clifford Anderson Sr. Cliff went to Bethel Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After Bethel, he pastored for over 25 years. He was a Pastor in Cushing and Aurora, Minnesota, and at an Evangelical Baptist Church in Norwood, MA from 1964-1977. His further graduate studies included Masters in Theology, Masters in Philosophy of Religion, pursued his PhD at Boston University, and professionally trained in Counseling.
He moved to Nashua, NH in 1980 and attended Trinity Baptist Church where he became the Assistant Pastor for many years along with providing counseling. His years of service are more than 40 years at Trinity where he was still attending. His heart for God also led him to be involved with Prison Ministry for 3 years and worked in a counseling clinic for 10 years. He had continued to be very instrumental at Trinity through the years being active in Silver and Gold, Men’s Ministries, counseling, and small groups.
Cliff was a fanatic golfer starting at a young age with his Dad that continued well into his 90’s. He enjoyed many of his senior years golfing in leagues at Buckmeadow Course in NH. He played football in college as kicker, played basketball/racquetball, and continued bowling in a league in Merrimack, NH into his 90s. He enjoyed playing his coronet and at times would still bring it out and play. He was an avid bird watcher and nature lover. Cliff enjoyed reading, watching sports, camping, canoeing, eating out, games/puzzles, but most of all, spending time with family and talking about God.
The influence of God and Jesus as his Savior has been passed down throughout his family. He will forever be loved, missed, and remembered.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 6th, at Trinity Baptist Church in Nashua, NH at 10am followed by refreshments.
