Claudette A. Coughlin

Claudette A. Coughlin, 91, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on October 31, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lowell, MA on March 13, 1935, a daughter of Henry and Rebecca Vercontaire. Claudette was raised and educated in Lowell, MA and graduated from Lowell High School.

She later moved to Milford in 1960 and had been employed as a clerk for Kenmore Stamp Company, Milford, for many years. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, but most especially loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Coughlin was a devout Catholic and longtime communicant of St. Patrick Church, Milford and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Coughlin, Sr., who died in 2009; and two sons, William Coughlin and Stephen Coughlin; her brother, Donald Vercontaire, and her sister, Eunice Crisafulli.

Family members include a son, James E. Coughlin, Jr., and a daughter, Lisa Coughlin, both of Milford; three grandchildren, Brian Coughlin, Kevin Coughlin, and Shaun Coughlin; three great grandchildren, Sarah Coughlin, Matthew Coughlin, and Andrew Coughlin.

SERVICES: A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM in St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Amherst, NH.
