Charlene "Cheri" Prior Mazerall

Charlene “Cheri” Prior Mazerall, 72, longtime resident of Lyndeborough, NH, died after a period of declining health on May 26, 2026, in Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua.  

Cheri was raised and educated in Foster, Rhode Island, and a graduate of Ponagansett High School, Cheri lived a life defined by kindness and a deep love for her family and community.

Her career as a mail carrier in Wilton, New Hampshire became one of the great joys of her life. Cheri did not just deliver mail, she delivered connections. She knew her customers by name, remembered their stories, and made each stop feel like a visit with a friend. Dogs along her route quickly learned that Cheri meant treats and many of her customers learned that she meant kindness. Some would wait out by the mailbox just to share a few minutes of conversation with her.

At home Cheri found happiness on the family farm with her husband and her beloved Casey dog. She loved tending her gardens, cooking meals that brought everyone together, crafting and shopping with her sisters, and caring for her animals with the same tenderness she showed people. Watching BBC shows were her ways of unwinding after days filled with giving so much of herself to others.

Cheri believed in supporting causes that mattered. She supported the Alzheimer's Association and participated in the walk with family in honor of her mother and grandfather. She also supported the Wounded Warrior Project. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick's church.

Cheri's legacy is one of love, service, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her kindness, her spirit, her generosity, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, Cheri was predeceased by her sister, Connie Snelling and her son, Chad Farrar.

Survivors include her loving husband, Joseph Mazerall of Lyndeborough, her sisters, Carla Chatterly (Anthony), Cathy Prior (Mark), her children, Dana Farrar, Benjamin Mazerall (Megan), Travis Mazerall (Sarah), Lauren Dineen (Anthony), Theresa Cantella (Alex), their chosen son, Ted Piwowarczyk, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford, NH. Burial will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations in memory of Cheri be made to a charity of one’s choice.
