Beth Gay

Beth Gay, 88, longtime resident of Brookline, NH, died on December 27, 2025, after a period of declining health in Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua.

She was born on February 27, 1937, in Pepperell, MA, a daughter of the late Harold and Dorothea (Fessenden) Beaubien.

Beth was raised and educated in Brookline, NH and graduated from Nashua High school. She married Edward Gay and together made their home in Brookline, NH for many years. Sadly, Edward died suddenly in 1988.

She enjoyed time spent gardening, reading, bird watching, cooking (especially her whoopie pies) and most importantly time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beth was predeceased by her loving husband Edward Gay, her daughter, Deborah Howard, her brother Theodore Wirtanen and her sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Knowles.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie and her husband Joe Coleman of Lyndeborough, NH, Beth Ann Harrington of Waltham, MA, Stephanie Gay of Epping, NH, her twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, her siblings, Howard Beaubien of Monrovia, MD, Harold & his wife Kathy Beaubien of The Villages, FL, and Bonnie Beaubien of Deerfield and her partner Marylou Kosmatka.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, 03055. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Brookline Community Church, Brookline, NH. Burial will be in the spring in Lakeside Cemetery, Brookline, NH.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Beth can be made to the Wadleigh Library, Milford, NH.
