Amos E. Hoskins, 74, resident of Amherst, NH, passed away on September 5, 2019 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 7, 1944, the son of William and Ruth (Oglesby) Hoskins. Amos was raised and educated in Jacksonville, and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. Amos made his home in Amherst for 29 years and formerly resided in New Jersey for many years. He had been employed by AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ and later worked for Fidelity Investments, Merrimack, NH. In his earlier years, he coached his children’s sports teams. In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and most especially working around his home. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Hoskins. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Beth Hoskins of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Duggan of Mason, NH; two stepchildren, Christian Hoskins and his wife, Krystal of Goffstown, NH, Justin Hoskins and his wife, Megan of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren; a sister, Edna Richert of Lake City, FL; and a nephew. Funeral services will be private.
