A. Laurie (Cadigan) Burgoyne, wife of the late Leo A. Burgoyne, Esq., died March 20, 2008, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC surrounded by her loving family. Formerly of Lowell, Laurie was born in Holyoke, MA on Sept. 23, 1922 to the late Thomas E. and Laura (Handley) Cadigan. She attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar School until the age of nine, when upon the death of her mother, she moved to Lowell. There she was raised by her uncle, Michael H. Winn, Superintendant of the Lowell police, and her aunt, Winifred (Handley) Winn. Laurie graduated from Lowell High School in 1940. She held the position of Lieutenant in the Lowell Girls Officer Club. Following her graduation from Lowell Commercial College, she served in Washington, DC on the staff of Congresswoman Edith Norse Rogers. Upon her return to Lowell, she began a thirty year career with the New England Telephone Company, retiring in 1994. Laurie is the sister of the late Winifred M. Moloney and her husband Edward of Lowell, the late Vera Quinlan, and sister-in-law of the late Francis X. Quinlan, Sr. Her beloved daughter Laurie Anne (Burgoyne) Fahrer predeceased her on September 21, 2002. Laurie Ann blessed her with two grandchildren, Daniel Fahrer of New Brunswick, NJ and Katie Fahrer and fianc� Robert Demeter of Metuchen, NJ. Fondly remembered as "Nani" to her family, Laurie is survived by two daughters and her son, Michael J. Burgoyne and his wife, Kathy of Raleigh, NC.� Her daughter, Lee-Ellen and husband Dr. Alan Celeste of Youngsville, NC have blessed her with three granddaughters, Cassidy, Kerian, and Brelyn. Her daughter, Bethany and husband Timothy Schreck of Flanders, NJ have blessed her with two granddaughters, Heidi-Leigh and HollyRose. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the Lowell area. Laurie was a concert pianist, an avid reader, and a true inspiration to her many friends and relatives. She will be always remembered and forever loved. Calling hours will be 6-8 pm on Sunday, March 23 at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH.� A�mass of Christian burial will be celebrated�on Monday, March 24th at St. Patricks Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH.� Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery, Lowell, MA.
