Obituary for Robert A. Johnson

Robert A. Johnson, 88, lifelong resident of Milford, NH, died on March 20, 2020 at the NH Veterans Home, Tilton, NH.

He was born in Nashua, NH February 24, 1932, a son of Carl Arthur and Helmi J. Johnson. He was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1950.

Bob had been employed by Norwood’s Milk Dairy prior to owning and operating several gas stations in his early years and later made a career in Printing at the Cabinet Press, Royal Business Forms then retired from the Milford School System.

Although Bob had many friends, he always put his family first. Bob enjoyed helping his neighbors in need, snow blowing in the winter and lawn mowing in the summer. Bob was very fond of his many dogs, especially his most recent dog Molly, a beautiful black lab.

While his boys were growing up, he had been a Cub Scout Leader and Little League Baseball Coach. Bob also enjoyed spending time working in his yard and was always proud of his manicured landscaping. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage while listening to music and was an avid fisherman.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and proudly served his country for four years as Senior Aircraft Mechanic.

Family members include his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothea M. (Sims) Johnson of Milford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Karen Johnson of Milford, Jeffrey and Kim Johnson of Mont Vernon, NH; two grandchildren, Amey Skladony and her husband, Mike of Manchester, NH and Cole Johnson of Milford, NH; two step grandchildren Jacqueline Foster of Denver, CO and Ryan Foster of New Boston, NH.
