Maurice G. Guay Sr, 89, a longtime resident of Wilton, NH passed away on November 27th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 28th, 1928 in Island Pond, VT to Peter and Mabel (Dezan) Guay. Maurice was a US Army Veteran who served during WWII. He was employed as a machinist at Abbot Machine, he spent many years in the logging industry, worked at Kimball Physics, and later worked for the Town of Wilton for more than 18 years. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Helen (Little) Guay of whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage. Family members include his five children, Maureen Burgess and her husband Tony Burgess of a Erwin, NC, Maurice G. Guay Jr. of Milford, NH, Bruce Guay and his wife Linda Guay of Wilton, NH, Deborah White and her husband Timothy White of Merrimack, NH and Michael Guay and his wife Michelle Guay of Greenfield, NH; six grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Nicole, Ashley, Haylee, and Taylor; seven great grandchildren, Jillian, Camron, Lola, Lacey, Jordyn, Jaelynn and Justin; a brother, Dana Guay and his wife Carol Guay of Southwick, MA and his nephews, Dana Jr., Brian and his niece, Sheila. Maurice shared a 40 year friendship with Percy (Jr) and June Mills of Lyndeborough, NH as well as a 15 year companionship with Edith Lamminen. Maurice will be remembered for his favorite past time of pulling horses and attending fairs, as well as pulling the cannon for the Lafayette Artillery of Lyndeborough, NH and his incredible dance moves to old time country music. A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Visiting hours are on Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00am-1:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Abbot Hill Road, Wilton.
