Martin L. Brown

Martin L. “Marty” Brown, 46, resident of Amherst, NH, died on December 15, 2015 at his home. He was born in Boston, MA on September 9, 1969, a son of Martha (Steele) Brown and the late Peter M. Brown. Marty made his home in Amherst since 1975 and formerly lived in Boxborough, MA. He graduated from Milford High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island School of Design. During college he worked at the Amherst Country Club and Country Tavern. He enjoyed welding, cooking, graphic art and silk screening. Marty was a passionate artist and had worked for Disney World in Florida and later as a freelance artist. In addition, he worked as a journeyman electrician for Interstate Electric for a number of years. In addition to his mother of Amherst, NH, family members include a brother and sister-in-law, Lieutenant Colonel James M. Brown, D.O. and Leslie Brown, currently stationed in Fort Campbell, KY; a niece and nephew, Lauren and Jacob; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial visiting hours are on Tuesday, December 29th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to your local humane society.
