Martin H. Beck

Martin “Marty” H. Beck, 67, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, passed peacefully surrounded by family on June 15, 2019 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Burlington, MA. He was born in Lynn, MA on February 6, 1952, a son of Joseph H. Beck and Mary T. (Deehy) Beck. He was raised and educated in Peabody, MA and graduated from Lowell Technical Institute where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Omicron fraternity. Marty was the founder of DevTech Labs, a plastics manufacturing company located in Amherst, NH. He was an avid New England sports fan - especially the Patriots and Red Sox - and was fortunate to attend three winning Patriots Super Bowl games with family and friends. He was active with the Amherst, NH Recreation Baseball League and the Bedford, NH Blackflies AAU Baseball Team. He also served for several years as the President of the Amherst, NH Baseball Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jane (Ayers) Beck of Amherst, NH; two sons, Joseph R. Beck of Albuquerque, NM and Jason M. Beck and his fiancée Hannah Smith of Manchester, NH; a sister, Patricia Johnson of Old Orchard Beach, ME; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Barbara L. Beck of The Villages, FL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard F. and Kathleen C. Ayers of Manchester, NH; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; the Deehy cousins; the Wood cousins and the entire DevTech Labs Family. Per Marty’s wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers. Donations can be made in his memory to the Medical ICU at Lahey Clinic Burlington, 41 Mall Rd. Burlington, MA 01805 to honor the colleagues of the M-ICU for their professional and compassionate care they gave to him while he was under their care.
