Marion J. Dube, 96, a lifelong resident of Milford, NH died after a period of declining health on March 21, 2021 in Meredith, NH. She was born on April 5, 1924 in Nashua, NH, a daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Racine) Woods. Marion was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1942. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Lowell State College, Lowell, MA and her Master’s in Education from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, MA. She worked for 32 years as an educator in Milford and later as the Assistant Superintendent of SAU #40. In her earlier years, she taught elementary school in Milford and Hollis. Marion was a longtime member and past president of the Nashua Area Retired Teachers Association. In addition, she enjoyed traveling and playing golf. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Lt. Leon Jacques, Jr. who died during the Korean War, and her second husband, Raymond Dube; sisters, Pauline Woods, Dorothy Lorden, Florence Philbrook, Gloria Bernasconi, and Evelyn O’Neil; brother, Charles Woods, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Rev. Donald W. Jacques. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Valerie Jacques of Newington, NH; four grandchildren; Amy Altman (husband Robert), Stephen G. Jacques Jr. (wife Jocelyn), Daniel J. Jacques (wife Paula) and Bethany J. Lahey (husband Keith); eleven great grandchildren; Alexander and Vivian Altman, Annika, Kaida and Callan Jacques, Ryan, Andrew and Colin Jacques, Maddox, Aylin and Kyla Lahey; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Woods and Jeanne Jacques, and niece Jane (Lorden) Provins. Calling hours are on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63, Elm Street, Milford, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst. Those attending are asked to adhere to current guidelines by wearing a mask and observing social distancing. To say she will be missed is an understatement. The world is a bit dimmer now because she is no longer here".
