Margaret A. McEntee, 92, longtime resident of Lyndeborough, NH died in the early morning hours of January 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 22, 1931 in Amherst, NH, a daughter of the late Earl and Olive (Hill) Bullard.
Margaret, fondly known to many as Peg, Meggie, Gram, or Mrs. McEntee, was raised and educated locally in the Milford School District. She graduated from Milford High School in 1949. Following high school, she went on to attend Keene State College where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1953.
She married James P. McEntee, of Milford, on June 26, 1954. Together they made their home in Milford for a few years before finally settling in Lyndeborough on her family’s farm. Peg worked for many years as a teacher in both the Milford and Wilton School Districts and also managed a small in-home kindergarten she ran for nine years.
Peg had many hobbies and interests outside of work; she was a longtime member of the Dogwood Reservation Club, Lyndeborough Gatherers, and the Red Hat Society. What brought Peg the most joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were many snow days spent at Meggie and Bumpa’s house, trips to Maine, and visits to the local toy store. We will all miss her, but we know she is at peace and resting comfortably now.
In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her loving husband James P. McEntee and her brother, Earl “Buzz” Bullard Jr.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Christine McEntee of Wilton, NH, Thomas and Sarah McEntee of Amherst, NH; her grandchildren, Austin McEntee of Boston, MA, Laura (Timmy) St. John of New Ipswich, NH and Devin (Hannah) McEntee of Lyndeborough, NH; her great- grandchildren, Josh, Leah, Jacob and James St. John and Ellie McEntee; her two sisters, Pauline “Polly” Brown of Lyndeborough, NH and Carolyn “Sooky” Sebastiano of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
