Katie A. Hamilton, 30, resident of Brookline, died on December 24, 2013 in Brookline as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Nashua, NH on February 26, 1983, a daughter of Steven H. and Catherine E. (Mattson) Whitcomb. Katie was raised and educated in Brookline and graduated from Hollis Brookline High School, Class of 2002. She was currently employed as an apprentice plumber and worked alongside her dad for the past 8 ½ years at Whitcomb Plumbing & Heating. Katie’s greatest love was being a mom to her three beautiful daughters. She enjoyed taking her girls everywhere including apple picking, fairs, Disney World, Santa’s Village, fishing, going for long walks in the woods and vacationing in Newfield, Maine. She practiced Reiki and was recently certified as a Zumba Instructor. Katie loved volunteering for fire department fundraisers, having her family over for Sunday dinners and her daughter said, “She was a sweet, kind mother with a heart of gold.” In addition to her parents of Brookline, family members include her husband, Liam P. Hamilton of Brookline; three daughters, Madalyn, Lillian and Caleigh Hamilton, all of Brookline; a sister, Sarah Whitcomb of Brookline; a brother, Shannon Whitcomb of Colebrook; maternal grandparents, Carol Mattson of Brookline, Kenneth Mattson of Townsend, MA; paternal grandparents, Eddie W. and Barbara Whitcomb of Brookline; three nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours are on Sunday, December 29th from 5:00-9:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:30 am in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pepperell Road, Brookline, followed by a Celebration of Her Life at the Brookline Event Center, 32 Proctor Hill Road, Route 130, Brookline. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Hamilton Family Fund, c/o TD Bank, 104 Route 13, Gazebo Square, Brookline, NH 03033.
