John P. Ferraro, 62, resident of Amherst, died unexpectedly on December 27, 2013 in Amherst. He was born in Rochester, New York on July 7, 1951, a son of Patrick and Laura (Villa) Ferraro. He made his home in Amherst for the past 30 years. John was currently employed as a salesman for Able Moving & Storage, Amherst, where he had worked for the past 10 years. He enjoyed sports, playing golf, and most especially loved spending time with his family and relished being a grandfather. “Papi” loved doing whatever his grandchildren wanted him to do. Family members include his wife of 39 years, Judith (Lawson) Ferraro of Amherst; three daughters and sons-in-law, Alison and Steven Weafer of Norwood, MA, Lauren and Robert Niemaszyk of Chelmsford, MA and Courtney Ferraro of Manchester, NH; five grandchildren, Jack, Megan, Lindsey, Ashley and Emily; two sisters, Geri Spino, Laurie Spring and a brother, Joseph Ferraro, all of New York; his mother-in-law, Jean Lawson of Nashua; several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 31st at 10:00 am in the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to a charity of your choice or to the Scott Spino Foundation, Inc., 42 Kimbrook Drive, Rochester, NY 14612.
